Terms and conditions
Short on purpose. Apple’s own licence agreement governs your right to use the app, and Apple handles the money. What is left is what Runbound itself promises, what it asks of you, and the things you should know before you run.
By using Runbound you agree to what is on this page.
Who may use Runbound
Runbound is for people aged 16 and over. It is a training plan for adults and young adults, and nothing in it is designed for children.
Runbound is not medical advice
Runbound is a training plan, not medical advice. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat anything. If you are new to exercise, are pregnant, are recovering from injury or illness, or are unsure about your health, talk to a doctor before you start.
The app rates how much strain a plan puts on your body and tells you when a plan looks ambitious or risky. That rating is a guide built from published coaching practice, not a clinical assessment of you. It cannot see your history, your injuries or your day.
Stop and get help if you feel unwell while running. Chest pain, dizziness, faintness or pain that is sharp rather than tired are reasons to stop, not to finish the interval.
Routes are suggestions, and the road is real
Round-trip routes are drawn from public street data. They can be wrong, out of date, or lead somewhere you would rather not run: a road can have lost its pavement, a path can be closed, a shortcut can be unlit at night.
You are responsible for your own safety and for obeying traffic rules. Look up from the watch. Runbound does not know about traffic, weather, roadworks or who is around you, and it does not navigate for you.
Route data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License.
Routes work in the United States and in ten European countries. The coverage page lists exactly where, and the app tells you plainly when you are outside it rather than failing quietly.
What Runbound does
Runbound trains two things: getting there, up to 10 km or 60 minutes of continuous running, and getting faster over those distances.
Guided runs need an Apple Watch. Planning, routes and progress work on an iPhone alone.
The subscription
Your first three runs are free, with the whole app and nothing held back. After that Runbound Pro is $1.99 per month, or the equivalent in your own currency at Apple’s rate for your region.
There is no free trial. Nothing is charged by a countdown you forgot about; you are charged when you choose to subscribe, and not before.
Apple sells the subscription, not us. That means Apple takes the payment, renews it, cancels it and handles refunds. Manage or cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Your consumer rights against Apple as the seller, including any right to withdraw from the purchase, are unaffected by anything on this page and are set out in Apple’s own terms.
Your licence to use the app
Your right to use Runbound is granted under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, the standard agreement Apple applies to apps whose developer publishes none of their own. We publish none of our own, so that is the licence, and it covers permitted use, restrictions, warranties and liability.
Using it fairly
Runbound is for your own personal training. Please do not:
- work around the free-run allowance or the subscription;
- take the app apart, or try to reach our services other than through the app;
- use it in a way that breaks the law, or that interferes with the service working for anybody else.
What belongs to whom
The app, its name, its designs and the plans it generates belong to Cre8-it B.V. Your runs belong to you, and they stay on your device: we have no copy to claim any rights over.
If you send us an idea or a bug report, we may act on it and build it, without owing you anything for it. Say so if you would rather we did not.
Warranties and liability
Runbound is offered as it is. Apple’s licence agreement, linked above, sets out the warranties and the limits of liability that apply.
Two things we will not hide behind that: nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, and nothing here takes away the rights Dutch consumer law gives you. Where anything on this page conflicts with those rights, those rights win.
Changes, and stopping
We may change or discontinue features. Where a change removes something you were paying for, cancel through Apple and the terms above apply.
We may update these terms. If a change matters, the app will tell you before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Continuing to use Runbound after that is how you accept the new version. If you would rather not, cancel and stop using the app.
We can suspend or end access for anyone using Runbound in the ways listed under “Using it fairly”.
